

He was born March 11, 1964 in Orange, Texas to Jeff D. and Patsy G. Allen. Doug was known for his tender, compassionate heart and sharp, quick wit. He was a 1982 graduate of Vinton High School, lettering in football. He was an avid McNeese, LSU and Mississippi State football fan. Doug became a Christian at an early age and was a go to resource for his vast Biblical knowledge. His world changed with the birth of his precious daughter, Jenna Kay. Doug chose to become a stay at home dad, caring for Jenna with her many disabilities. She was his world.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Donna Lynn Patrick Allen; daughter, Jenna K. Allen; mother, Patsy G. Allen, all of Vinton. His siblings, Brenda (Kenneth) Broussard, Donna (Steve) Trahan, all of Lake Charles and Jeff C. Allen of Vinton. His father and mother-in-law, Robert and Brenda Patrick. He was a beloved uncle to Lauren (Daryl) Westmoreland, Alisa (Jason) Burklow, Julia (Jeffrey) Reed, Meredith Trahan, Clint and Jace Allen; and great-nephew, Noah Broussard, along with numerous loving cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Jeff D. Allen; and a nephew, Kyle A. Broussard.
Doug would want everyone who knew him, to seek and know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ - The Way and the Truth and the Life. No one will come to the Father except through Him. John 14:6
Rest easy sweet Doug, All is well...
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 8, in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. The Rev. Rob Tibbitts will officiate. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday in the funeral home. The family asks that memorial donations be made to the Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Foundation, Inc. 302 West Main St. #100, Avon, Connecticut 06001.
