

She was a native of Lake Charles, and had been a resident of Vinton for 46 years. Verdie enjoyed going to the casino and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Larry Thibodeaux, Sr. of Vinton; one son, David Glen Thibodeaux of Vinton; daughter, Judy Thibodeaux Bailey and husband, Ed of Fredericksburg, Virginia; one brother, Michael LeJune of Sulphur; her sister, Anna Faye Smith of Clinton, Michigan; six grandchildren, Lance Thibodeaux, Lucas Thibodeaux, David Thibodeaux, Jr., Brandon Bailey, Hunter Bailey, and Jennifer Thibodeaux Morgan; and two great-grandchildren, Addison and Ashlee Morgan. She is preceded in death by her son, Larry Thibodeaux, Jr; her father, Milton LeJune; and her brother, Calvin LeJune.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Susil Fernando will officiate. Pallbearers will be David Glen Thibodeaux Sr, David Glen Thibodeaux Jr, Lance Thibodeaux, Lucas Thibodeaux, John Douglas, and Ed Bailey. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon and Hunter Bailey. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m., and from 9 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made the National Kidney Foundation. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Alan LeBato for his excellent care of Verdie.
