She was a native of Church Point and had been a longtime resident of Vinton before moving to Baton Rouge three years ago. Pete enjoyed playing dominos, flower gardening, traveling, and crocheting. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Orange, Texas.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Stanley of Denham Springs; four sons, Bobby Lormand and wife, Sandra of Westlake, Donald Lormand and wife, Gloria of Orange, Texas, Billy Lormand of Sulphur, and Carl Lormand and wife, Kathy Kingsland of Mexico Beach, Florida; one sister, Janet Phelps of Pasadena, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Earl Lormand.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. The Rev. Gary Wheeler will officiate. Burial will be in Niblett's Bluff Cemetery in Vinton. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday in the funeral home.
