Alana Josephine Dozier, 77, passed away on March 10, 2022. She was born in England to the late Horace Lee Beecham and Iris Kirk Beecham Moore. At the age of 2, Alana and her family immigrated to the United States, arriving at Ellis Island, NY; her name is in the Ellis Island Book of Arrivals.
Alana was a member of Pungo Church of God, she was the Sunday school secretary for many years. She worked for 7-Eleven in the deli; she started out at the Pungo store then transferred to the store on 9th street at the beach where she retired after more than 20 years with the company. Alana enjoyed crocheting and baking for family and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 46 years, Lydell Lee Dozier; brother James Lee Beecham; and grandson Wallace Ray Rawls.
Left to cherish her memory are 3 sons, Horace Lee Dozier (Nancy), Wayne Robert Dozier (Evelyn), and James Lee Dozier (Jennifer); 4 grandchildren, Katie Dozier (Bub), Merjo Carruthers (Zach), Laurie Batten (David), and Jennifer Bozeman (Mike); and 8 great grandchildren, Robert, Henry, Colt, Penelope, Chelsey, Grace, Chloe, and Abby.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Pungo Church of God with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Charity United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pungo Church of God.
