Cliford H. “Mac” McRaney, 84, passed away on June 22, 2013. He was born in Moselle, Mississippi and resided in Virginia Beach since 1969. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and his first wife Sammye Gurney McRaney.
Mr. McRaney retired from the U.S. Navy after twenty years of service and from Raytheon after twenty-four years. He was member of the Norview Masonic Lodge 113.
Survivors include his loving wife Marilyn A. McRaney, two step-sons, Douglas DeForge and wife Kathleen, Darren DeForge and wife Bonnie; five grandchildren, Douglas Jr., and wife Erica, Mary and husband Joshua, Christopher and wife Gwen, Matthew and Jacob, two great grandchildren Lillie and Josephine, a brother and two sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mr. McRaney’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. A reception will follow in the funeral home.
