Emily built a respected career in the mortgage industry, where her dedication, integrity, and ability to connect with people left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Emily was known for her warm heart, quick wit, and the genuine care she extended to everyone she met.
Family was the cornerstone of Emily’s life. She cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, always putting her loved ones first. She found great joy in celebrating life’s milestones with her family, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her grandson, Landon, was her pride and joy, and she delighted in watching him grow and thrive.
Emily is survived by her son, Christopher Lee Carter; her grandson, Landon Robert Carter; two stepchildren, Jennifer and Albert Carter III; her brother, Michael Bettencourt, and his wife, Natalie; her two nieces, Maddie and Brooke; her aunt Rebecca Malloy; and her father-in-law, Leon “Moose” Bunch.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength. Emily will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Interment will follow at Princess Anne Memorial Park.
