Hazel Perkins Brown, 88, passed away February 28, 2012. She was born in Norfolk, Va. on July 11, 1923 to the late James West and Mary Jane West-Robertson. Hazel was associated with the Layman’s Home Missionary Movement in Pa. She was also active in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post # 4809 and TOPS #VA 147 of Virginia Beach.
Hazel was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Rudy Perkins, Frank Tafe, and Vernon Brown.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Billy Perkins and his wife Karen of Bay City, Texas; two daughters, Jeannette Lister and Linda Stanley and her husband Jimmie of Bedford, Va.; six grandchildren, Sherry, Darin, Stephen, Kelley, Brian, and Wendy; and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 2, at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
