She is survived by her loving husband Richard Atkinson; sisters Roberta “Bert” Biggs and her husband Fred; and Melody Bias and her husband Keith; brother Norman L. Miller and his wife Isabel; nieces, Courtney Payan, Andrea Pewsey, Sara McCraven and Heather Bias; nephew Casey Biggs and her aunts, uncles and cousins in Texas. She is also survived by her beloved dogs Little Bay, Charles, Victoria, Guinevere, Lily, and Edison who recently passed away.
Helen was a member of the Tidewater Kennel Club and loved animals dearly.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013 from 6-8 PM at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 1 PM at St. Gregory the Great, 5345 Virginia Beach Blvd., conducted by Father Mario Fulgenzi, O.S.B.
