Mary F. Tolley

Mary Frances Tolley, 85, passed away on February 28, 2012. She was born on January 10, 1927 in Grenada, Mississippi. Mary was the only child of the late Kit and Alma Staten. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Orville W. (Tom) Tolley. Mary was a devoted Navy wife and loved the adventure that their many assignments in the United States and Italy brought. She joined numerous CPO Wives’ Clubs and was always thrilled with ship reunions. Mary worked as an administrative assistant at Virginia National Bank for many years. She loved dancing, socializing, her many pets, and will always be remembered as someone who never met a stranger.

Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Stephen Michael Tolley and his wife Susan of Virginia Beach, and Robert Edward Tolley and his wife Debbie of Chesapeake; her three grandchildren, Michelle Warren and her husband Jeffery, Dustin Tolley and his wife Lindsey, and Brandon Tolley; and her three great grandchildren, Zackary and William Warren and Mason Tolley.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 2, from 6-8pm at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 3, at 11am at Princess Anne Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to VB SPCA in Mary’s name. The family would like to thank the staff at Clare Bridge Assisted Living and Leigh Memorial for their love and care that was shown to Mary and her family.
