   As a childhood friend of Michael on Forest St. in Rutland, VT my sincerest condolences go out to all his family especially Mark, David, Timmy, June and Lynne.  I have enrolled Michael E. F. Cassidy in the Sacred Heart Spiritual Society wherein he will share in the daily Mass and prayers offered by all members of the society.     A father, a friend, a guide, a shining star..... A true man... one who was and always has been there for anyone he loved, he took 7 young 6 year olds fishing for boy scouts, he taught us so many things,especially his love of nature, his laugh, his voice, his guidance and true, true appreciation for everything, will be missed. I planted a garden with his help.. went to work, and came home to find out he had pulled out all of the sweet peas we had planted, I was astounded! He told me they looked like weeds, and were crowding the tomatos, I had the best "maters" that year!  He was always right. Breakfast at the VFW, his trout on the grill, his humor and the best laugh in the world!  I was so lucky to be part of some of his surprises and jokes, like when he tricked Sherri thinking she didn't get anything for Christmas, then gave her the cruise!!!  Mike made time for everyone in his life, he loved those in it and even when he was ill we felt his love, I will not miss him forever, nor should you..... for Mike Cassidy is now among our guardian angels and his naval brethren.  By the grace of God we were lucky, we had the true pleasure of knowing-   Mr. Mike Cassidy.  I Love You and Thank you for blessing my life.

It was so sad to hear of Mike's passing. He was my best friend growing up in Rutland in the late 50's and early 60's. We caddied together at the Rutland Country Club, our paper routes abutted each other, we went bowling and played golf together on the MSJ golf team.  We joined the Navy together, and talked often about making the navy a career.  He stayed in, I didn't, but we always remained good friends.  He died way too soon, and will be missed.

To Mike one of the boys from the gut.  I still remember all the good times we had over in the railroad yards, in the plumbing supply warehouse, river street was a great place to grow up, we had quite a group from all the surrounding neighborhoods.
