Michael Owen Key, 73, passed away on September 7, 2024. He was born in Norfolk, VA to the late Dorothy Eileen Wickline and Paul Owen Key, Sr. Mike was an exceptional carpenter his entire life; he was very creative and detail oriented. If you showed him a picture, he could build it.
Mike was very strong willed, he was straight-forward with what was on his mind so you always knew where you stood with him, yet he was very humble and selfless; he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.
He was an amazing and loving father; he and Matt were best friends. They spent a lot of quality time together. When Matt and Cristie started dating Mike treated her like she was a daughter; a part of the family. He was simply a good person all around.
Left to cherish his memory are his son Matthew Owen Key and his wife Cristie Lynn Key; sister, Jamie Key; grandson, Matthew Owen Key, Jr; niece Sarah Key; and his beloved dog, Tyson.
He was predeceased by his brother, Paul Owen Key, Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
