Richard Wayne Taylor, 55, passed away peacefully at his home in Norfolk on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. Richard was born in Joliet, IL to the late Roger Taylor, who passed away in September 2014, Patricia Taylor in December 1986, brother, Gerald “Jerry” Taylor in June 2016 and a mother-in-law, Dorcas Lacy. Richard was a devoted family man who always provided for his family. He was a truck driver with International Paper (XPEDX) and USPS. An avid outdoorsman he loved hunting, fishing and camping in state park cabins. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Taylor; children, Patrick Taylor and his wife, Brittaney of Virginia Beach and Amber Taylor of Norfolk; grandchildren, Jaxon and Ryleigh; brothers, David Taylor (Deb), Edward Taylor and sister, Susan Bransford (Larry) all of CT; aunt, Naomi Cannady of Hot Springs, AR and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be from 6-8pm, Friday, Smith and Williams Kempsville Funeral Home. There will be a Celebration of Life at 10am, Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow immediately at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.smithandwilliamskempsville.com.
