She was married for 67 years to John Gayner Fox, who predeceased her in 2012. She is survived by her 3 children -- Eric L. Fox of Virginia Beach, Lois Fox Kerr of Sacramento, California, Janet Fox Schroeter of Burlington, Vermont, and 7 grandchildren.
She lived in historic Old Alanton in Virginia Beach on Woodhouse Road for 59 years, and had many life-long friends in the area,and was known for her kindness, sharp Norwegian humor, and impeccable hosting, whether pouring martinis or beautifully playing the piano for guests. She was among the last of that generation who married right after WWII and stayed home to raise baby boomers. She was intensely proud of her family and beloved by her children, and especially by her grandchildren, for whom she created magical childhood summers.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd 1489 Laskin Road in Virginia Beach, which she attended for 50 plus years, in March 2022. A reception will be held in the social hall of the church immediately following the service.
