Teresa Jean Holmes

Teresa J. Holmes, 72, of Chesapeake, VA, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Born February 27, 1953, in Hagerstown, MD to the late Florence (Barnes) Weaver and Maurice Weaver.

She was a 1971 graduate of South Hagerstown High School. She worked at Always Answering Service in Hagerstown, MD then had her own cleaning business in Chesapeake, VA. Later in life she devoted herself to caring for her mother full time.

She enjoyed shopping along with cooking and baking. She especially enjoyed decorating her home for every holiday.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Gary Mayes.

She is survived by her husband Terry Holmes of Chesapeake, VA; daughter Wendy Todd of Chesapeake, VA; son Richard Clark III and wife Angie Clark of Mercersburg, PA; sister Linda Smith of Chesapeake, VA; brothers Denny Weaver and wife Carol of Kutztown, PA and Ronnie Weaver of Hagerstown, MD; three grandchildren Brittany Elliott, Richard Clark IV and Brady Clark; four great grandchildren, Braelynn, Branson, Maverick and Nora; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday September 13, 2025, at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, 4889 Princess Anne Rd, Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society or similar organization.
