Thomas Fred Collette, Sr.

Thomas Fred Collette, Sr., 70, resident of Summer Place, passed on to be with his Lord and Savior on May 17, 2015. He was born in Franklin, Louisiana on July 5, 1944. He was a faithful parishioner at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

He was predeceased by his parents Vincey P. Collette, Sr. and Rose Anna Bourque Collette; and his brother Vincey P. Collette Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Nancy E. Collette, and their children: Stephanie Maria Darby (husband James), Thomas Fred Collette Jr. (wife Verena), and Kenneth Anthony Collette (wife Jeannie); his grandchildren: Nicole, James Jr, Samuel, Kathy, Alan, Thomas Fredrick and Collin, and great-grandchild Nicholaus Cole. His sister Rose Collette Guarisco and her husband Leonard, of Morgan City, LA. His nieces and nephews: Jeannie, Lenny Jr., Patrick, Brent, Karen Ann, Paul and Jamie.

Tom served his country proudly for 20 years in the Navy, and retired honorably on November of 1982. He worked at Plasser America in Chesapeake, VA, and retired again in 2006.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 21st, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1396 Lynnhaven Parkway, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Mass of the Resurrection will follow the visitation at 1:00 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to Parish of the Holy Spirit Social Ministries, or to the American Cancer Society.

He will always be remembered for his friendliness and kindness to everyone who he met. He will live in our hearts forever.
