

Virginia Beach – Wilma L. Moffat, 84, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on August 23, 2010. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Paul James Moffat, Jr.; and also her parents, Sarah and James Dobbie of Irwin, PA.
She leaves to cherish her memory 3 children, a daughter, Karen Burns, and husband Jim, a son, Jim, and wife Kim, and a son, Bill, along with 6 grandchildren, Cathy, Jason, Jenni & Eddie, and Crystal & Michael. She is also survived by a sister, Jean Tharp of Berea, OH.
Wilma always had a smile for everyone and never complained. She retired from nursing after 40 years of caring for others in need, a perfect profession for her personality.
Since moving to Virginia Beach, Wilma had been very active with her friends at the Princess Anne Rec Center for the last 11 years. She looked forward every morning to swimming and socializing at the Rec Center, and all their activities.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 717 Tucson Rd in Virginia Beach, where Wilma was a member.
