

Arvo Lamar was born October 12, 1921 in Minnesota to Nathan and Orpha Lamar, Arvo passed away in Fresno on April 20, 2012.
Arvo moved to Visalia, CA in 1977 with his beloved wife Bernice of 60 years. Arvo served in the Army and was a member of the 82nd Airborn unit. After leaving the Army he worked as a Mailman for 36 years. He was an avid bowler and was on five different bowling leagues at one time, he did the almost impossible by bowling a perfect game on his 64th birthday. Arvo was very active in helping the homeless by donating food, clothing and time to the Visalia Rescue Mission where he received the “Man of the Year” award.
He was always energetic and cutting coupons to save money.
Arvo is survived by his son Donald and wife Cynthia Lamar of Visalia, CA and many grand children and great grand children
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Visalia Rescue Mission.
Visitation service will be held Monday April 30, 2012 at 10:00-11:30 at Miller Memorial Chapel in Visalia, CA
Graveside service will be held Monday April 30, 2012 at 12:00pm at the Visalia Cemetery.
