Asher Mikel was born on May 30th, 2001. Asher had a wonderful sense of humor, he was selfless and would help anyone in need. Asher loved playing poker and Nintendo switch with family and friends and doing scratchers. He was a fiercely loyal friend. He loved animals and rescued every one he could. Asher always showed a helping hand or a supportive word. He would think of others before himself and took on that big brother roll for his cousins and friends. He also loved spending time with the love of his young life, Hallie Ibbs. They spent as much time as they could together. Hallie stayed by his side until his passing.
Asher grew up in Tulare and attended Tulare City Schools where he excelled in sports throughout his young life, but loved the game of baseball most of all. As an accomplished baseball player and known for his number 15, he made the All-Star team in Cal Ripken every year from the age of 8 to 13yrs old and was apart of the first team in Tulare to advance to the World Series in Florida. He played baseball for Tulare Union as the captain of the team from 2015 -2019 where he was EYL All League Team 1st Team Catcher, and voted most defensive player. He also played for many travel ball teams, his fondest memories were with the Oaks travel ball team. His Oaks family were very supportive and loving. Asher was also a devoted Dodgers and 49ers fan.
Throughout Asher’s fight his spirit began to strengthen. He heard the calling of the Lord and decided to be baptized and give his life to the Lord on Wednesday, July 13th 2022.
Asher was and always will be such a blessing to all. He touched so many lives not just during his fight with cancer, but as he grew up! His testimony is alive among his family and many friends as well as others whom have never met him. We will miss his laughter, smiles, hugs, jokes, that deep raspy voice and so much more. Asher was a beloved Son, brother, cousin, and friend.
Asher is survived by his mother, Anna Gallegos, his brother, Jeremiah Gallegos, his girlfriend Hallie Ibbs, his two dogs Lola & Chloe, aunts, uncles and many cousins.
Visitation will be at Millers Funeral Home,1120 W Goshen Ave, Visalia, CA on Friday, August 12th from 5pm-7pm. Celebration of Life will be Saturday August 13th, at First Baptist Church, 469 N Cherry St, in Tulare at 11am. A reception will be held at the Tulare Memorial Building, 1771 E Tulare Ave, in Tulare at 1pm following the service.
