Beatrice Martinez Ramos was born on July 29, 1923 in Waco, Texas, to Daniel Martinez and Lorenza Vanda Peña. Beatrice married Domingo N. Ramos in September 1937 and lived in Waco, Texas until they moved to Riverside (Casa Blanca), California in 1941. In 1946 they moved to Lindsay, CA and lived there until the move to Visalia CA in 1962.
Beatrice and Domingo had 11 children: Faye Quezada (Luther), Domingo Ramos (Mary), Janie Phillips (Eugene), Rudy Ramos, Christina R Cuellar (Edward), Josie Ponce (Alfred), Beatrice Ramos, Candelario Ramos, Vera Rascon (Larry), Francisca Ramos, and Mary Dia (Alvin); She had 37 grandchildren, 114 great grandchildren, and 33 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Domingo N. Ramos on August 27, 1974; Daughters Jane R. Phillips, Christina R. Cuellar, and Beatrice Mae Ramos; her grandson Rene F. Cabrera; also proceeding her in death is her sister Demetria Treviño, brothers Joe Peña and Candelario Peña, half-brothers Daniel Martinez, Willie Martinez, Robert (Bobby) Martinez, and Eddie Martinez; she has one half-brother, Rudy Martinez, who resides in Visalia, California and two half-sisters who reside in Texas. She also has many cousins, nephews and nieces up and down the state of California and in Waco, Texas.
Beatrice worked for many years as a farm laborer. She obtained a job in the industrial maintenance field starting at Marco Polo Hotel, then moved on to work at Kaweah Delta Hospital for over 15 years in the Dialysis Center (a job that she enjoyed) where she retired. Upon retirement, she spent her time enjoying and sharing her gardening expertise, sewing, crocheting, and cooking. She loved novelas and never missed an episode of "Laura" daytime TV. She was a member of the Visalia Catholic Church, the Guadalupana's of Visalia, California, and a Cursillista where she participated and volunteered in numerous Curseos.
Visitation for Beatrice will be held Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 West Goshen Ave, Visalia, CA 93291. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 608 N. Church St, Visalia, CA 93291 with burial to follow at Visalia Public Cemetery District, 1300 W. Goshen Ave, Visalia, CA 93291.
Serving as pallbearers are Edward Cuellar, Gabriel Cabrera, Christopher Ramos, Anthony Martinez, Andrew Ramos, Manuel Hernandez, and Eugene Phillips. Honorary pallbearers include Adriana Martinez, Raquel Banuelos, Angela Bonita, Marcella Ramos, and Kathy Villegas
