

Bertha was born in Jalpa, Jalisco, Mexico to Trino and Amelia Flores on July 4. 1926. At a very young age, her parents relocated the family to Tulare where they purchased and operated a small dairy. One of six children, Bertha went to school in Tulare. In August 1944 she married the love of her life, Raul “Leroy” Rodriguez and moved to Woodlake. She worked in packing house operations in Woodlake and Sunnyvale but most of her adult life was spent as a homemaker. She was known for her kind and selfless spirit, always loving with all she had, especially on her beloved great grandchildren.
Bertha is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Leroy Rodriguez. Her sons Henry Rodriguez, Richard Rodriguez and Grandson Richard Rodriguez Jr.
Bertha is survived by her Daughter; Linda De La Cruz (Alfred) of Visalia. Grandsons; Alfred “Freddie” De La Cruz, Jr. (Sharon) of Albuquerque, NM, Gabriel De La Cruz (Catrina) of Los Alamos, NM, Daniel De La Cruz (Alysia) of Visalia, David De La Cruz (Sonja) of Visalia, Mike Rodriguez ( Jessica) of Visalia and Steven Rodriguez (Lydia) of Shelbyville, TN.
Daughters-in-law; Elvia “Olga” Rodriguez and Jane Nystrem of Visalia. Granddaughter-in-law; Holly Rodriguez of Visalia.
Great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Steven Jr, Gabrielle, and Alex Rodriguez, Brandon, Ericka, Joseph, Donovan and Dominic De La Cruz, Richard III, Isaac, Carson and Cooper Rodriguez, Erin and Erika Bogle.
The De La Cruz and Rodriguez families would like to acknowledge and thank all those dedicated employees and friends who cared for Bertha at Delta Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 4 - 8 p.m. A Rosary prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. at Miller Funeral Memorial Chapel, 1120 W Goshen Ave, Visalia. A Mass will be held on September 30, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at St Mary’s Catholic Church, 608 N Church St, Visalia, with interment following at Woodlake District Cemetery. A reception will follow at St. Mary’s Parish Center, 506 N Garden St, Visalia.
