Born on April 13, 1928, Blanche entered her eternal rest on August 29, 2020 after a lengthy illness. A lifelong resident of Tulare and Visalia, Blanche graduated from Tulare Union High School and College of the Sequoias.
Upon graduation from COS, Blanche entered the workforce as a junior clerk typist with the Tulare County Welfare Department. She worked her way up to become a social worker; her kindness, compassion and desire to help others were well suited for her profession. Later Blanche was an administrator for the Crippled Children’s Society, an organization that focuses on children with physical disabilities.
Even though she worked full time during a time when most women didn’t, Blanche kept active in her time away from work. She belonged to professional organizations and her love of art and music prompted her to enroll in night school classes. In these classes, Blanche was able to pursue her passions, meet kindred spirits and participate in community events. She was a member of the Visalia Community Choir and sang in COS musicals. Blanche was a deeply religious person who was an active member in St. Mary Armenian Church and the Ladies Society.
Being a child of immigrants, family bonds were important to Blanche. She was a constant in the lives of her nieces and nephew. Sixty years ago, she met and married her devoted husband Ed. Together, they were devoted to their only son, Brian. They hosted many dinners and barbecues. Blanche loved to cook and try out new recipes, and everyone was welcome to her table.
Blanche leaves the world a better place. Those who love and miss her are her husband, Ed, son Brian, daughter-in-law Lisa, grandchildren Christopher, Taylor, and Randi Lea. In addition, she is survived by nieces and nephew Joyce, Kathy, Peggy and Abe Mark and their families who consider her a second mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
The family would like to thank Kaweah Delta Hospice for their wonderful care and support of Blanche. A special thank you to Cheryl.
