Bruce Leland Wells

Bruce was born in Woodlake, California on March 20, 1923 to Irvin and Emma Wells. He graduated from Woodlake High School with the class of 1942. Following graduation Bruce worked in the ship yards for a short time. When World War II began, he joined the United States Navy and served in the South Pacific for almost four years. On November 7, 1947, Bruce married Barbara Hensley in Visalia where they made their home. He worked for Knudsen’s Creamery for 10 years. For 21 years Bruce worked at Jostens as a Maintenance Supervisor, retiring in 1985.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter, Jackie Wells and his sister Alma Mae Stevenson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara Wells of Visalia; his daughter, Jeanette Hall and husband, Dave of Newport Beach, CA; his son Larry Wells of Visalia, CA; his sister Jean Hearn and husband Charles of Visalia; four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 27, 2013 from 3 – 7 p.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia, CA.
