Carol Faye Powell born on July 28, 1935 in Ivanhoe, CA passed away in Visalia on January 8, 2011. Carol was the daughter of Lorris & Olive Chatten from Ivanhoe. Carol married Ira Powell in June of 1976. They enjoyed traveling to many foreign countries and loved spending summers in Montana where they owned a home.
Carol retired from Thrifty Drug Stores in 1992 to stay home and take care of Ira when he was diagnosed with cancer. He preceded her in death in August 1993. Carol was a member of the Woman’s Club in St. Marie, Montana where she had many friends whom she enjoyed playing Bingo with.
Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Glenn, Ivanhoe; daughters, Crystal Champion, Visalia, Cindy Olivera, Santa Maria, and Cathy Lemons, Bakersfield; sons, Frank Denman, Ivanhoe, and Troy Powell, Santa Maria; granddaughter, Aimbria Denman, Tulare, and numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services are being held on Friday, January 14, 2011, 2:00 p.m., Woodlake District Cemetery, Woodlake, CA
At the family’s request, there will be no visitation.
