Cesar was born in Roma, Texas on May 17, 1936 to Geronimo Fernandez and Benilde Barrera Fernandez. He was raised and educated in Roma, Texas. Cesar married the love of his life, Maria Mejia in Texas and they moved to Visalia, California in 1960 to make their home. He worked for over 40 years sub-contracting with local farmers for trimming and grafting walnut and fruit trees, retiring in 2013. Cesar enjoyed visiting with friends and families. As a young man he enjoyed fishing. His hobbies included watching TV and working hard. Cesar enjoyed traveling to Casa Grande, Arizona and Texas to visit his family. He was a jokester and enjoyed teasing and making people laugh.
Cesar is survived by his son, Cesar and wife, Chrissy of Visalia, CA; his brothers Geronimo, Abelardo and Saul, all of Roma, TX; his sister, Rafaela Casillo of Roma, TX, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia, CA.
