David L. Miller, age 89 of Visalia, CA went to Heaven on September 10, 2024. He was born on July 9, 1935 to Samuel and Myrtle Miller in Rothsay, MN. He was a devoted husband to Betty for 65 years. David was a third generation funeral director. His family came to Visalia in 1963 when they purchased Brooks Funeral Home. He worked alongside his father and brother Paul. The business later became known as Miller Memorial Chapel. He was hard-working and dedicated to serving families over the years.
After retirement in 1996, David loved spending time in Santa Barbara and Visalia with friends and family. He loved to go deep sea fishing and was the captain of his boat, the Rampage which was docked in the Santa Barbara Harbor. He was devoted to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of Gateway Church of Visalia. He sang in the choir for 61 years. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Visalia Country Club. He was a member of Gideon International.
David is survived by wife Betty; children Brad Miller and Brenda Weaver, (David Weaver); grandchildren: David Weaver (Adrieanna Weaver), Daniel Weaver, Amy Blain (Eric Blain), and Breyn Hillman; great grandchildren: Maverick, Hudson, and Juliana Weaver and Max and Jett Blain.
The family welcomes donations to Gateway Church of Visalia-Win the Future or The Visalia Rescue Mission as an expression of sympathy instead of flowers.
David, our dad and Papa will be forever remembered as a quiet man who loved God and his family well.
