hey dad, i still think about you every single day. i can still hear your voice. it saddens me when i think of the last days you spent on this earth, mostly in pain, but you chose to fight for us and tried to hang on, and for that i thank you. it was your body that failed, not you dad. i love you so much and miss you. we all do. the holidays are coming up, and wont be the same ever again without you here. your birthday is comin up too, and we will have cake and ice cream, and of course, peanutbutter cookies, in your honor, then we will visit your favorite place on earth, the palace. i love you dad!

Hi pop.  The Holidays are coming up. Though I love the Holidays.....They won't ever be the same without you.  I miss you so.   My life is still a little rocky and i miss talking to you, but the Lord as always will guide, lead and keep us all.  I look forward, pop of seeing you again someday.  What a joy it must be to see the face of the Lord.  How incredibly awesome it must be ...to be in the presence of Jesus.  How awesome Heaven must be.  To have the light of God, illuminate everything around you and to see the streets of Gold.  Nothing in my human imagination can fathom how awesome and wonderful the home of the most high is.

hey dad, we went to talk to the veterans dept. today, we got you the marble stone cuz it looks nicer than the granite, and moms info is gonna be on it too, side by side. i was hoping you would have it for your birthday, but they said its gonna be 3-4 months, so yeah, as you would say....."well, that sucks!" but we will still be there for your birthday and celebrate your life, this i promise ok. i love you dad!

Hey Dad, i finished the caddy, yup, its painted. Before i brought it home, i took it by your grave to show you. I always valued your opinion, and i know you were always my biggest critic. but you told me the truth, and i miss that. Your attention to detail was like no other, but i guess it came natural to you cuz you were around cars all your life. Oh, we went to put the down payment yesturday for moms grave, so that she could be buried right next to you, i know thats what you would have wanted. So you and mom will be together in life, and after. I love you dad, i always have, and i always will..... babykins.

Hey DAD!!! Just wanted to drop by and say Love, Peace and Chicken Grease!  I miss you dad and seems that some days are worse than others!  You left such an impression on us, that it is really hard to shake if off!  It's been a month and seems like just yesterday we were visiting one of your favorite places "Three Rivers". Its been one full month now, Pop, since you have been gone.  It has been so weird without you dad.  I miss coming over and not seeing you...or having you give me a hard time, lol. EVERYTHING! I know you are in a better place now, but how i long to hear your voice, hear your crazy laugh, and see your smile. Its been really hard dad, i know you didnt want to go yet, and it bugs me to this day, knowing that I couldnt do anything. But this is the way that god wanted it, right? hi dad. i went to the cemetary today, and i'm glad that soon you'll have your headstone and we're going to go and place flowers there for you. I cant believe that its already going to be a month since you've passed, but it feels like so much longer. still cant believe you are gone, dad. It feels wierd. I was outside today, finishing up some of the leafing on my cadillac, till about 11pm, and i was expecting you to come out and tell me it was late and get some rest and finish it up tomorrow, like you always did. you were always worried about me, and i miss that, i miss you. it hasnt even been a month, but it seems like forever. afterall, the longest ive ever been away from you was 1 week, when you went to texas. I miss you so much Mingo, I keep thinking your going to walk in the door at any minute & hear you tell Chema that you won something at Bingo or that you won some money at the Place. It gets so hard sometimes, we all miss you dearly. Thank you for everything Mingo especially for all the memories you left us with... The one I remember the most is when Me & Robert went to go pick u & chema up at midnight from the bus stop & chema had to go to foodmaxx, so while she was inside you kept making fun of Robert saying that he was so Square My goodness you made me laugh so much that night, & when we first told you I was pregnant, chema told us how happy you were, even tho we never got the chance to see our Baby we know u have & we know u will be taking good care of our Lil one. I know all we have left now are all the memories u left us with, but it's hard to think of those memories sometimes becuz we know we will never get the chance to make more & that's what hurts, but we know u are no longer in pain, you are now one of God's Angels. I'm even going to miss hearing u blow ur nose in the mornings... I'm so thankful to have gotten to spend the last few years with you & so glad you got to meet my Family as well. Please continue to watch over us & give my Baby a kiss for me. Missing you dearly.

Grandpa, I am the man I am today because of you. I will do everything I can to do right by you. I promise, I will do my best not to disappoint you. I will raise my children not to forget you and cherish their family in this life and in the next. Like you said, all we have is our family. Money, fame, glory.... all that fades away in time... even if it doesn't, it won't make you happy without a loving family. 
If there is only 1 thing I could do in this life, it would be to keep our family together... that is what I've learned from you as a child. Taking me and my sister in as children and raising us, I know it was a burden, but you did it to keep us together. That says a lot about the man you are, putting family first will always be my first priority. 

You are the Foundation of my life, without a strong foundation the structure of a man I am today would crumble and fall.  Thank you for being so strong, now I can be strong and raise my children to be strong.

Mingo, you taught me how to play dominoes the "right" way and I will always slap those "bones" down on the table as loud as I can and think of you.  It seemed like the family always lost to you, but maybe it was just all the "big talk" you, Robert, and Adam would joke about. Somehow dominoes always became insults of "Army vs. Navy" and whatever else you guys could find to throw around.

I hope you are winning at bingo and slots in the Big Palace (aka Heaven), and eating a delicious piece of cake too.  I will miss you very much and I am so glad I got to be a part of your life, even for a short time.  You have a wonderful family, and I thank you and Chema for accepting me like I belonged.

My father was a great man.  His sense of humor was endless.  He loved to play dominos and wheel of fortune.   He would frequent the Tachi Palace in Lemoore because he liked their breakfasts' and dinners'.  He would also frequent the Visalia Senior Center.  My father put up a tremendous fight, he still had a fighting spirit, but his body failed him.  Now, my father rests in the care of our Lord Jesus Christ.  There is absolutely no better place to be, then with Jesus.  Pop, you will be greatly missed.
