

Doyle Raymond Ward was born in Brawley on June 19, 1938, to his parents Howard and Marie Ward. In his teens the family moved to Modesto where he attended Thomas Downey High School. During high school he developed his love of sports and excelled in football. In the mid-sixties he moved to Visalia and was employed by Sequoia Plumbing for many years. He and his brothers, Robert and Bruce, started their own plumbing business, Ward's Plumbing in 1977. Ray was a past member of the Moose and Elk Lodge and the Sierra View Raider Golf Club. He enjoyed fishing for Croppy on his house boat, the Little Brianna, on Lake Kaweah. After retiring, he traveled in his motor home following Nascar. He attended eighteen different tracks. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Bruce, Jimmy, and Homer, sister Brenda and his only son Timothy Ray Ward. Ray is survived by his wife Norma, step-daughters Jessica Kramer and Christi Pendergraft, his 4 grand-children: Brianna Scoggins, Charles Pendergraft, Shawn Pendergraft and Christian Pendergraft, who he has so graciously provided for. From Visalia is his brother Robert and his wife Helen, and from Modesto are his brothers Richard and wife Carol, and Carl and wife Kathy. A memorial open house will be held on January 28, 2012 between 1-4pm at his home: 1411 N. Noyes Ct. in the Cobblestone II gated community. In lieu of flowers please donate to the cancer society, SPCA, or donation of your choice, in Ray's name.
