Ethel Horton

The life of Ethel Horton will be celebrated on Friday 9\16\11, at 9:00am, graveside services will be held at Visalia District Cemetery.

Ethel Passed away on September 11, 2011 at the age of 89. She was born in Cave City, Arkansas on September 9, 1922. Ethel married her sweetheart Lowell on January 5, 1941; and was married for 69 years. Ethel worked at First Baptist Church of Visalia and more recently the Visalia Bible and Breakfast group. Ethel was a loving mother and grandmother; spending countless hours playing jacks, school, and crazy eights. She devoted time sewing quilts for the elderly, baking and crafting with her grandchildren. Ethel is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Scott Howarth; grandchildren, Russell Weeks, Wesley Weeks, Allison Wardrip and husband Noah, Courtney Howarth, Ashley, Howarth; great grandchildren, Terrin Weeks, Lindsey Weeks, Julian Weeks, and Keira Wardrip . Ethel is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many friends. Ethel was preceded in death by her husband Lowell Horton; her son Gail Horton, daughter Linda Weeks; son Gary Horton; her brother, Fred; and sister, Virginia.
