
Former resident, Frank Gardner DeLong passed away on October 16, 2012 in Visalia, California. He was born to Fred and Margaret DeLong on December 16, 1917 in Columbus, Montana where his parents homesteaded. Frank loved to tell stories and make people laugh and was always the first to help friends and neighbors. He met his wife, Velma at a dance in Chamberlain, South Dakota. They both shared a love of dancing. They spent much of their lives in Idaho and Oregon and then retirement in Yuma, Arizona. He spent over fifty years in construction and after retiring enjoyed painting and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Velma of Visalia, CA; sister, Miriam Dahn of Portland, OR; two sons, Dennis DeLong of New Mexico, David DeLong of Klamath Falls OR; daughter Dixie Eich of Visalia, CA; ten grandchildren, Chuck, Chelli, Mitch, Kristine, Ryan, Jessie, Marc, Nichole, Rene, and Jeff; sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, nieces and nephewxs.
A Celebration of Life services was held at his daughter's home in Visalia. Frank will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
