Glen Alvin Whitfield Sr.

Born: Oakes, North Dakota Date of Birth: Aug. 15, 1922

Passed Away: Visalia Date of Death: March 17, 2015

Glen Alvin Whitfield, Sr. was a General Building Contractor who taught that

trade in two Colleges: College of the Sequoias in Visalia, CA and College of the

Redwoods in Eureka, CA.

He built Custom homes, Schools, Restaurants and was always willing to give more than

the Contract required. All for whom he worked would gladly hire him again.

He served his country in World War II as a “Seabee” in the 54 Battalion of the Navy

Construction in both North Africa for ten months and in the Pacific ( on a small island

In the Phillipines for ten months).

Between the Atlantic and the Pacific while State Side he married his sweetheart Camilla

Gallagher. They lived together as husband and wife for 70 years and had five children:

Pat Whitfield Roth (Randy), Glen Alvin Whitfield (Jay), Betty Lenora, Debbie Whitfield

Choate (Steve), Raymond Leroy Whitfield. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren,

14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Gateway Church of Visalia at

2:00pm
