

Gloria Villarreal, age 75 of Visalia, CA, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011, born October 19, 1935 in Mexico. She finished high school, worked at a banking firm as a secretary. She met and marred Alejandro Villarreal Sr. in February 1955. They lived in Laredo, TX for a few years. Alma was born in 1956, then moved to Des Moines, Iowa, where Jose was born in 1958, moved back to Laredo, TX, Arlene was born in 1960 then Alejandro (Alex Jr.) was born in 1965. She was a housewife for many years. The family then moved to California where Alejandro Sr. began his career as a Seamer Mechanic for large companies such as Hunts & Nestles Foods.
Gloria & Alejandro liked traveling. They took trips to Las Vegas, Laughlin and Reno, went to Mexico to visit our Grandparents every year. She had a green thumb & enjoyed having her vegetable garden, fig, persimmon, orange, apricot and avocado trees, raised canaries, had a pond with Koi fish, and always had their dog. They enjoyed barbeques with family and friends and most of all, their medicine was having their grandkids around. “They were their pride and joy.”
Gloria is survived by her loving son and close companion, Jose Aurelio Villarreal and Rocio Magallanes and daughters and son-in-laws, Alma Gloria and Joel Mayorga, Arlene and Ivan Ortega. Her grandchildren, the Villarreal’s, Michael, Erica, Vanessa and Victoria, the Ortega’s, Rebecca, Ivan Jr., Jessica, Amanda and Alejandro Jr., the Villarreal’s, Leandra and Jaydyn. Gloria’s brothers and sisters are Estela Sanchez and family, San Juanita Herrera and family, Pablo Hector Gutierrez and family, Jose (Pepe) Gutierrez and family, Cleofas (Chofa) Galicia and family, Aurelia Gutierrez and family, Cecilia Davila and family, Natalia Moncivais family, Reynaldo Gutierrez family, Maria Elena Gutierrez family & Francisco Gutierrez family, She’s preceded death by her husband, Alejandro Sr., her son Alejandro Villarreal Jr. and grandson, Andrew Alejandro Villarreal.
Arrangements are by Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 West Goshen Ave., Visalia, Ca 93291 on Wednesday, September 7, 2011. Viewing from 9 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Funeral services 10:00am.
