Harry Vierra Alves

Harry V. Alves was born May 23, 1924 in Tulare, California to Joe Vierra Alves, Sr. and Mary Sousa Alves. He passed peacefully at the age of 89 in Visalia, California with his loving family by his side on Monday, January 6, 2014. Harry joined his beloved wife, Ethel of over 50 years.

Harry was also preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary Alves, and his brother Joe V. Alves Jr.

Harry was employed by Knudsen Creamery for 42 years as a milk transport driver and was a hardworking and loyal employee.

Harry was truly a loving and caring man who loved his family and friends unconditionally. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with family and friends. Harry will be greatly missed by all.

Harry is survived by his children, Emma Boyd, Chuck Murphy and wife Wanda, Joye King and husband Larry, David Alves and wife Mary, Rosemary Cordeniz and husband Don, and Brenda Nagel; his sister Frances Domingos and husband Al; his sister-in-law Donna Alves; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a SPECIAL THANK YOU to Judy for years of loving care and devotion to our Dad.

Visitation will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia on Monday, January 13, 2014 from 3 – 6 p.m. with Recitation of Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. at the chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W. Goshen Avenue, Visalia, CA.
