

Helen was born in Kansas City, Missouri on March 27, 1924 to Joseph and Grace Hembree. She married Charles Thomas Stanley in Aldrich, Missouri in 1942. When her husband went to war, in 1944-45 she served with Kaiser Company, Inc., Vancouver, Washington as a war production worker during the period of national emergency, building various types of vessels for the United States Maritime Commission and for the United States Navy. In 1945, they resumed their residence in Missouri and welcomed the birth of their daughter, Diane, in 1947. The family moved to Visalia, California in 1950 where she happily raised her daughter. Helen was a dedicated employee for over fifty years at Bofs Deluxe Bakery (now Bothof's Bakery) as a sales clerk. She was known to many as the “Bakery Lady” and she lovingly called everyone she met ”Honey.” Her family was her hobby, especially her great grandchildren. Helen retired from the bakery to care for her great grandchildren five days a week. Helen kindly and generously gave of herself to her family and friends. She was a faithful member of Visalia First Assembly of God Church. Helen was the most loving mother, grandma and great grandma in the entire world. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Diane Stanley and her family and friends.
Helen leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Diane Stanley of Visalia, CA; grandson, Brian Kennemer and wife Stefane of Visalia, CA and their children, Whitney Hunt, Sky Kennemer and Kenneth Kennemer; her sister-in-law, Joyce Weaver of Monet, MO; her extended family, Michael and Cynthia Kennemer of Visalia, CA, Craig and Dawna Kennemer of Rush, CO, Rex and Connie Kennemer of San Diego, CA, Jeff Kennemer of San Jose, CA and Jody Kennemer of Morro Bay, CA; Kenneth Hutchinson of Joplin, MO, and many friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Hembree and Grace Weaver and her brother , Gary Weaver.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 2 pm at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia, CA.
