Jeri Lyn Lee, 70, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026. Born on November 22, 1955, in Woodlake to Loyd and Mary Shaw, Jeri was raised in Ivanhoe, where the strong roots of family and friendship helped shape the remarkable woman she became. She spent most of her adult life in Visalia, where she built a life centered on family, laughter, and faith.
Jeri attended Redwood High School and dedicated many years to serving her community through clerical positions with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office and San Joaquin Pest Control. In every role, she was known for her reliability, kindness, and unwavering willingness to help others. She carried herself with quiet strength and selfless care, always making life a little easier for those around her.
Jeri was married to her husband, Joaquin Silva Sr., and her love for her family was constant and unmistakable. She will be deeply missed by her children: Tobi and Adrian Huizar, Jessica and Tom Brumley, and Chad Rudd. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Terry Ashford, Carli Ashford, Justin Lee, Mariah Bernal, Kaylee Rudd, Britney Rudd, Sadie Huizar, Eli Huizar, and Donnie Brumley, along with her beloved great-grandchildren. Jeri is also survived by her sisters, Lana Shepard and Ginger Crouse. Through every season of life, she remained a faithful source of love, encouragement, and support to all who knew her.
Those who knew Jeri will remember her warm smile, contagious laughter, and the way her sense of humor could brighten any room. She had a special gift for making friends wherever she went. Jeri loved spending time with family and friends, taking trips to the beach, playing softball, and, in her younger years, swing dancing. Above all, she treasured cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events, always offering encouragement with pride, joy, and unconditional love.
Jeri was, above all else, an overcomer. No matter what challenges life placed before her, she faced them with resilience, grace, and steadfast faith in God. Even in her final days, her concern remained focused on others more than herself — a true reflection of the loving and selfless spirit that defined her life. Her favorite Bible verse beautifully reflected the foundation of her strength and courage:
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” — Philippians 4:13
Jeri was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Mary Shaw, and by her first husband, Carl Rudd. She will be remembered always with deep love, gratitude, respect, and the lasting impact she made on everyone blessed to know her.
