In her early years the family moved from Mexico to Orange County and settled in Placentia, Ca where she met and married the Love of her life, Steve, in 1940. The young couple moved to the central valley and first resided in a labor camp where Steve was the Labor Contractor for Woodlake Packing House. Jennie was the camp cook for the many Farm Laborer workers who resided there.
In 1954 Steve and Jennie purchased their ranch of 68 years, affectionately called “The Big G Ranch”, located in Elderwood, Ca. She worked at several local packing houses, including Earlibest and Golden State Packers where she retired in 1990 after 35 years.
Jennie truly loved her family and her ranch which was the site of many family gatherings and celebrations. She enjoyed attending sporting events of her grandchildren and spent many summer vacations camping with family at Grant Grove and Eshom Creek.
She will be deeply missed, but Forever in our Hearts.
We thank Lindsay Gardens and Staff for her care and becoming like family.
