Judey did not have bible teaching during childhood but was often curious. When she was 18 years old, while reading Romans I, "the just shall live by faith”, the Lord's invisible presence spoke to her, saying, “I am with you.” This was the seed that was to guide her for the rest of her life.
In 1957, Judey married Bob Edwards. They had three children: Diane, Blaine, and Robert.
Around 1968, she devoted herself to her walk with the Lord with the help of others, leading, in 1980, to her being baptized into the Protestant faith.
In 1985, with the guidance of the wise and learned Dr. Gene Scott, Judey was called to study the Scripture even deeper through his in-depth teaching of Greek, Hebrew, and regional history. She would continue this study for as long as she was able, more than 20 years.
Judey had a passionate love for nature and the beach and would easily spend hours lost in the thrill of snorkeling or exploring tide pools. She was a natural artist with a talent for painting. In fact, she enjoyed anything creative, including restoring and refinishing furniture and lapidary (gem and stone cutting/polishing.) She enjoyed and was an accomplished seamstress, making her own clothes, the occasional costume for school plays or dress for graduation, and many other things. She loved to dance, spending as much of her later life as possible doing so. She had a joyous and unapologetically playful spirit.
Above it all, she had uncompromising virtue and a level of clarity within her that drove an unwavering belief that her home was in Heaven, not Earth. She has gone home.
Judey is survived by sister Jean, daughter Diane, son Robert, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She is now at peace and free, together with the Lord at last.
