VISALIA - Born 10-13-39 at the homeplace outside Porterville, CA, and passed peacefully on 5-25-25 with his wife and daughters holding his hands. Larry spent his youth working with cattle and almost always had a herd. He spent some summers fighting fires in Tulare County. Larry graduated from Fresno State with a degree in civil engineering and spent most of his career with Tulare County retiring in 2004 as the Assistant Director of Resource Management Agency-Engineering.
Larry raised his two daughters, Larianne and Kim with his first wife Billie (Blackburn). A devoted father Larry was always there supporting his girls and grandkids in their many activities from the showring to the softball fi eld. Later in life he met and married Linda and blended their families and pets. Larry’s last 20 years were made possible due to a kidney donation from his friend Roger Hunt. During this time Larry and Linda (Lyn) enjoyed traveling and enjoying the good life at their rural home with (you guessed it, his cattle and many pets). When driving around the countryside (always a different route) he would be heard saying “I built that bridge.”
Larry is survived by wife Linda; daughters Larianne (Blaine) Austin, Kim Fuller; grandchildren Nathan, Haley (Frankie), Callie and Cassie, Justin, Codilynn, Mason, Nicole and Lacey; and greats Robbie and Blayne; and brothers Don and Jim. Waiting for him in heaven were his parents Arlo and Lorena, brother Marvin, Lyn’s daughter Tonya, and son in-law Jim, and many other relatives. Celebration of Life will be held June 14 at 1:00pm at Visalia United Methodist Church at 5200 W. Caldwell Ave. Visalia, CA 93291. Donations may be made to the PKD Foundation or your favorite charity.
