I just wanted to write a few words in loving memory of my grandmother, Laveda Rogers, so here it goes…

With loving memory of Laveda Rogers
I may not have known my grandmother, 
As much as I would have liked. However, 
I know in my heart, she is in a place, 
Where there is no pain, no sorrow, nor heartache.
A select few had the privilege 
Of knowing this special woman,
But those that did loved her tremendously.
She was called up to the promise land
By our lord, of this I have no doubt. 
If god wills it, I will see her on the 
Other side of those pearly gates 
Where we will revel 
In the glory of god; for eternity.

Sister Rogers Having you in our home for family get togethers was always a blessing for us. Rest in the Lord now and we will see you again. Richard, I cant tell you how sorry we are for your Loss but I know that you know you will be together again. Know we love you & Connie & family and your in our prayers.

The word Mom has so much meaning.
It has all the power of life. It has all the love one can feel in life.  It has all this and so much more.  This is what I fell when I call you Mom. So I will keep this word close to my heart as I keep you. My mom you will always be.

Mom, you taught me so much, how to love openly and the values which have made me the woman I am today.  I will always treasure the times we shared together as a family and in church.  I loved to hear you sing and to sing with you and I will always have so many wonderful memories of you.  I miss you so much but I know that you are with our heavenly father and that is where you want to be.  I will continue to live my life with you in my heart.  I love you and will see you when God calls me home.

Our hearts, thoughts and sympathies are with you my friend, during this very trying time, from all of us at the Pacific Fraud Field Office.

The desire of my heart was to visit with you one last time and Jesus answered that desire. We sang together about making it to our home by the grace of God and by the grace of God, you have now entered into eternal joy and peace. You are now joined with my Daddy, your late Husband and so many more loved one's who knew Jesus as their personal Savior and devoted their lives to HIM. No parent is ever perfect, but you strived to be the best Mom, the best wife and the best Grandma that you could be and knew how to be. You left a Godly legacy and one that is far more valuable than education, wealth, silver and gold or anything else this world tries to offer. We will pick up the torch that you laid down since God said that it was time for you to come home. I long for the day when I get to join you and sing in that choir around the throne and worship our perfect and flawless Savior for all eternity. The time and moments I shared with you are a treasure that I will hold in my heart until we meet again. God's Word is truth and John 14:2,3 declares that He has a home for us with HIM in Heaven to live in peace forevermore. Thank you for treating me like a daughter or part of your extended family,  your children have an example of love and kindness and hospitality that you showed to my family and my sisters and my Mom by showing love and grace and unselfishness by sharing so many, many, many meals and holidays with us. My prayer is that your children and grandchildren will take all the good that you taught them and live their lives by the example you lived. You were indeed a blessing and I told you that I will see you later and I will, it will just have to be on those golden streets beyond the pearly gates at the Throne of God!!! With lots of love,

But we haven't seen each other in many
years. I remember you mom I loved her 
smiling face. Even when she would get
mad at you-kids.  But in reality she is in a much better place. I do 
remember how she loved the lord.

Richard you know  how I feel about your Mom . She was my friend and we worshiped together and had some great times I will never forget . She a wonderful woman and our loss is Heavens gain. Richard take that comfort Son. You can see her again on that Evergreen shore. Love you Son if you need me just call.

Dearest Lavida, Your daughter Deborah and I became friends in 1966 at Traver School. I spent the night at your home on Road 36 and I went to church with the family at Traver Church of God. That night you came and told us that one of us had gotten saved; that was me. You were so happy and always accepted me as family, a daughter. As the years continued, you were a role model for me. Every week you worked in the church making peanut brittle, hamburgers, etc to keep the doors open. You taught me how to cook stew & I make it to date. Debbie and I dated Brothers in High School & in 1969 you made my wedding dress. We have been together alot at family bbq's and we often picked you up and took you to Debbie and Larry's home. It was always a blessing to sing praise to God all the way to Bakersfield. I'll never forget Gene picking me up for church every week. I still remember him waiting for us girls to stop singing those hymnals that convicted him cause he just wanted us to stop so he could go to bed. 
Lavida, I will always remember you staying at my home, you'd come in my room at 5am and you'd call each one of your children and their spouses each one name by name and all the kids and grandkids and I cried like a baby. How could you have Dementia and still sing praises to Jesus and pray and recall each of their names. We went to my church that morning and you inspired all by singing the words, all correct. I'll never forget your Godly example to me and my family and my 3 girls. I know you are waiting along with Frankie in Heaven. You blessed my life for many a year. May God grant your heart desire that all your children, their spouses and all the grandchildren that they will be ready to meet you in Heaven. God's word will not return void. I had the opportunity to meet Laveda since the year 2000. She was always sweet and friendly. When she was no longer allowed to bake, she would carry candies and pass out to anyone she met while taking walks around the neighborhood.  My condolences to all the family.  Indeed the loved the Lord.

mom;  it was an honor to be by your side as you went to be with jesus,to know that now you are walking on streets of gold with the one you have been serving all your life, is a great comfort. we will see you again.  the legacy you left all of us can`t be bought with money. you told me about the one who died for me, and how i could have eternal life thru jesus, thank you.
