

Lilia passed away at age 88, on Monday, May 9, 2016 in her home surrounded by her children, grandchildren and Cousin/Friend Ms. Virginia Mendoza. She was born to Catarino and Modesta Gomez, on April 29, 2016 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Lilia married Bonifacio F. Jimenez in 1941. They moved to Goshen, California in 1955, (with 9 of their 14 children) where he worked as a janitor, sheep herder and farm labor.
Lilia worked as a farm laborer and secretary for Self-Help Enterprises (SHE). Build one of the first three homes for SHE. Lilia assisted with setting up the first Child Day Care Center in Goshen, California.
Lilia had a passion for cooking, especially with Chili, self-taught seamstress, and had a vast amount of love for God, her Children, and over 100 grandchildren, great/great-great grandchildren, sisters, family and friends. Lilia was preceded by her husband Bonifacio, three sons: Marcial, Pete, Tony; and one daughter Rosie Osorio and many brothers, sisters and grandchildren.
Lilia is survived by her children-Tommy and wife Jenny Jimenez; Gloria and Chris Tallon; Danny and Angelica Jimenez; Jolanda and David Delgado; Margaret and Filamon Acuna; Modesta Jimenez; Dr. Mary Jimenez, NP and Dr. Andre Minuth; RoseAnne and Luis Garcia; Bonnie and Angel Perez, Sister Avelina Pappion, Mrs. Dora and Fred Cota.
We would like to thank Dr. Joseph Duflot and staff, especially Becky at Fresno Nephrology who treated her with utmost empathy, respect and kindness. Also, thanks to Enrique RN Case Manager from DaVita in Selma, and Optimal Hospice. Above all thank you to Jolanda, Bonifacio, Tonya, Margaret, Virginia, Bonnie, Ruby Helen, Rose Ann, Tommy, Virginia Mendoza and other family members (grandchildren) who were there for our Mother Lilia.
Visitation will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Ave., Visalia, California 93291, (559)732-8371 on Thursday May 12, 2016 at 4:00pm, followed by Celebration of Life at 6:30pm. Graveside Service will be on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 11:00am at Visalia Public Cemetery.
