Linda Stubbings, age 72, of Visalia, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019. She was born to Arthur and Gene Williams, on January 16, 1947, in Park Royale, England. Linda was a devoted stay at home Mom and managed the family business, Esquire Tile.
She married Roger Stubbings in 1979 and made the move to the United States. They lived together in Exeter for 25 years before building their dream home in Visalia. Linda was the loving and devoted Mother of her daughter, Lianne and her husband Anthony Mungia, of Visalia; and her son, Brian Stubbings, of Visalia. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Trent and Jayde Mungia. Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roger Stubbings and younger sister, Carol Williams in 2007.
Linda was a dedicated Mother, first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana. She was very proud of her family. Linda was an amazing cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially during the holidays. She loved to prepare traditional English dishes such as Strawberry Trifle, quiche, shepherd’s pie, and bubble and squeak. In her spare time, she would watch food tutorials, cooking channels, and complete crossword puzzles, play computer games, make playdough for her grandchildren, and spend time with her family. Linda was also an avid gardener who saved many of her daughter’s plants from their sad fate. Linda enjoyed traveling to the coast where she would walk along the sandy shore to gaze at the waves and collect seashells.
Linda was well known for being the neighborhood "Mum" who cared for all children as if they were her own. The Stubbings' door was always open as was their hearts. Linda was a true animal lover and cared for her four dogs Katie, Chico, Mini, and Bubba. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
The burial ceremony will take place on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 10:00am at the Visalia Public Cemetery 1300 W. Goshen Ave. Immediately following, a reception celebrating her life will take place at the Mungia home. The family requests that people make donations in support of cancer research in lieu of sending flowers.
