Marlene attended Corcoran High School where she was a member of the drill team. It was there she met, and later married, her high school sweetheart Norman Blackwell on July 15, 1953.
Marlene is survived by her husband Norman and two sons, Kevin Blackwell and wife Janie of Visalia, CA and Brian Blackwell and wife Sharon of Avila Beach, CA. She also leaves four dearly loved grandchildren, Kristen, Andrea, Jeremy and Ryan and six great grandsons. Marlene dedicated her life to her husband, home, and family and her love for them was evident to those around her.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents and her brother James Archer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marlene’s name to the National Kidney Foundation.
Viewing will be held Monday, February 13, 2017, 9:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:00 AM at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Ave., Visalia.
