

Phyllis Reker was born September 23, 1929, in Lacey, Iowa and passed away on November 13, 2023. She completed her education in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Phyllis moved to Aurora, Colorado in 1958, where she met and married her husband of 39 years, Norman Reker. They moved to Visalia, California in 1965. Phyllis was a member of the Visalia United Methodist Church and retired from Visalia Farm Credit in 1992, as an Accounting Administrative Assistant.
Phyllis was preceded in death by Norman in 2003, her parents Dale and Bernice Scharff Reynolds, her sister-in-law Karen Reynolds, her daughter-in-law, Carol Phillips and four of aunts.
She is survived by three sons, Roger Phillips of Dunlap, California, Leon Phillips of Visalia, California, David Reker and his significant other Anne Sunde of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is also survived by three daughters, Vicki Van Arendonk and husband Dan of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Becky Peichoto and husband Tony of Tulare, California and Julie Gresham of Tulare, California. Phyllis also has 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Phyllis is survived by one sister, Marlene Mitchell and husband Kent of Champaign, Illinois and one brother, David Reynolds of Guttenberg, Iowa and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at the Visalia District Cemetery on December 14, 2023, at 10:30am. Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
