Regenia Magdalene Bon

Regenia was born in Batesville, Arkansas on June 27, 1933 to Clarence Bryant Smith and Stella Lee Palmer Smith. Her parents moved to Porterville, California when she was small. She graduated from Porterville High School in 1951. On November 22, 1949 she married Harold E. Slate in Porterville. They divorced after 25 years together. Regenia married Manuel Bon and they enjoyed thirteen years of marriage until his passing in 1992. She was a devoted Christian. Regenia enjoyed writing poems, literature and as a young woman sang at KTIP with a group. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Regenia will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Regenia is survived by her son, Harold E. Slate, Jr. of Porterville, CA; three daughters, Pat Padilla of Porterville, CA, Teri Jones (Ed) of Visalia, CA and Karen Stieb (Larry) of Visalia, CA; her sister, Thelma Hall of Porterville, CA; seven grandchildren, Justin, Ashley, Chris, Mike, Jason, Matt and Elise; nine great grandchildren, Amery, Kiana, Zachary, Logan, Hannah, Mike Jr., Matt, Dillion and Eden Marie.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 16, 201 at 10 am at the Vandalia Cemetery in Porterville, California.
