

Olin was born in Imperial Valley, California to Ulyses and Ocie Lambert on December 18, 1936. He grew up in California and attended school in Avenal, CA. He graduated from Avenal High School in 1954. Olin worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Coalinga, CA for 28 years as a letter carrier, then 16 years, as Postmaster in Sequoia National Park at Lodgepole. He and Joan bought property in Three Rivers, built their home, then retired in Three Rivers until his last day. Olin and Joan were married for 50 beautiful years.
Olin was a Scout Master, Past President of Fraternal Order of Eagles in Coalinga, member of Sequoia Wood Workers Club in Fresno. He was Co-Ed Advisor with his wife Joan in Explorer Post 174 and they did three Colorado River Canoe trips. Olin did wood turning, wood carving, painting, loved camping with the family, teaching the grandkids fly fishing and was a great story teller.
Olin is survived by his wife, Joan; his daughter, Vicki (John) Hutchings; son, Scott (Angelic) Lambert; step-son, Bill (Peggy) Moore, Jr., 13 grandchildren and spouses, 23 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Olin was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, two sisters and his step-son, Steve Moore, Sr. Olin had many dear friends, one being his best fishing buddy, Lorin Durr, whom has passed.
Olin would want two dear friends, Vern and Kathy McDonald to know how grateful he was to not only have them as neighbors but considered them family.
He had many beautiful hours with his brother in law, Bill Milliken making bowls in his woodturning days.
Visitation will be held at 40768 Cherokee Oak Dr., Three Rivers on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 10am to 12noon followed by Interment at Three Rivers Public Cemetery. Tributes and condolences may be made at www.millerchapel.com.
