He was a loving husband to wife Cecilia and the most wonderful father to daughters, Michelle and Anjannette; and daughter Theresa from a previous marriage. He was a sweet and generous Tata and Papa to his granddaughters and grandsons, as he was also a great grandpa.
Rod was born March 12th, 1930 at Tagus Ranch in Tulare County, California to Panfilo and Guadalupe Jacobo. He attended school at Tagus Ranch and Tulare Union where he also played baseball. He then played minor league baseball for the Globe Miami Browns, Arizona-Texas League until he served as a corporal in the Army and was sent to Okinawa during the Korean war from 1951 to 1953.
Rod retired from Champion Homes as a carpenter. He was a loyal, hard worker. In his spare time, he enjoyed wood carving, golfing and visiting with family in Tulare. Tuesday mornings were spent having coffee with his brother Henry & friends, with an occasional sneak to the casino with said brother. He also loved his trips to Baja, Las Vegas & along the California coastline with his wife and daughters. His most memorable trip was the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. he took with his brother Henry and nephew Rick Jacobo.
We will forever cherish the many fun loving memories we have made.
He will be greatly missed by his entire family, friends and neighbors. Rest in peace, Daddy.
