Ruben Galindo Tavarez Sr.

Wednesday January 8, 2015 Ruben G. Tavarez Sr. went to join his wife Virginia in Heaven. Ruben & Virginia were married for 50 years. After a long battle with Alzheimer's, God said it was time to receive his ultimate healing. Ruben worked hard to take care of his family. He was able to retire from the City Of Visalia Sanitation Department with 34 years of service. His retirement was spent traveling with his wife Virginia until her passing. Ruben loved working with his hands. Ruben was preceded in death by his brother Angel Tavarez, and sister Elena Gonzales.

Ruben is survived by his brother Alberto Tavarez. His children Ruben Tavarez Jr. & Mary, Hipolito Tavarez & Maria, Terry Tavarez & John, Caroline Moreno & Ruben, Eva Vasquez & Richard. Grandchildren: Lisa, AJ, Ruben III, Angel, Christopher, Samuel, Carlos, RJ, Mia, Tina, Andrew, Adam, Vanessa, Monique, Anthony, & Moses. He also had 26 Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 3 – 6 p.m. with Recitation of Rosary being held at 6 p.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1908 N. Court St in Visalia. Burial will follow at Visalia Cemetery.
