Rudy Chavez

Rudy “Chops” Chavez, 85, passed away on May 6, 2025. Born in 1939 to Felipe and Maria Chavez of Cutler, California, he was the youngest of eight siblings. After graduating from Orosi High School, Rudy joined the United States Army in 1957. He was married to his wife Kathy for 61 years, raising their two daughters together.

Family and friends were important to Rudy. However, he could still be a “Mother Duck”.

Rudy was avid gardener who found peace while working in his yard. He will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Infinite Heart Hospice and Sierra Care Clovis for their compassionate care.

Rudy is survived by his wife Kathy, and children Lori and Danette; six grandchildren, Monique, John Gabriel, Rudi, Janae, Samantha, Jonathan and ten great grandchildren. He also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces.

A Celebration of Life for Rudy will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel 1120 West Goshen Avenue, Visalia, 93291 on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 11:00 am with a Military Honor at 1:00 PM.
