
Ruth Lily (Sullivan) Rose, 94, was born on January 4, 1922 in Seattle, Washington to Cecil James and Agnus Marie Sullivan. Her parents came to Visalia, California when she was one and half. Ruth attended schools in Porterville and Visalia, graduating from Visalia High School in 1940 and from Visalia Junior College (College of Sequoias) in 1942. Upon graduation, Ruth went to work at Security Bank. In 1943, she moved to Seattle, Washington where she worked in an office at the ship yard. Ruth married Samuel Dawson Rose in 1945 and they moved back to Visalia to make their home. They moved to Taurusa and farmed for a number of years, returning to Visalia in1963.
Ruth has two sons, Terry Rose and Jack Rose, both of Visalia; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Larry Sullivan of Washington.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Agnus and by her husband, Samuel Dawson Rose on June 1, 2011.
