

Aaron Franklin Lyn Aycock, age 26, passed away on May 26, 2026, at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, South Carolina. Aaron was deeply loved by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was devoted to animals and was known for rescuing injured and stray animals whenever he could. Aaron was truly a gentle and compassionate soul.
Aaron graduated from Swansea High School in 2018 and pursued a career as an electrician, proudly following in the footsteps of his beloved uncle, Scottie Gantt, whom he greatly admired. Aaron shared a close and meaningful bond with his uncle, whose passing on May 31, 2018, profoundly affected him.
Above all, Aaron shared an extraordinary bond with his mother. He remained by her side throughout his life and cared for her with unwavering devotion and love. Their relationship was deeply special and difficult to fully express in words. The love they shared transcended both time and circumstance.
Among Aaron's many accomplishments were his achievements in athletics. He lettered in track and pole vaulting in the seventh grade and excelled in wrestling, competing in three state championships and earning victories. He also advanced to the world championship level with the Swansea football league team. Whatever Aaron pursued, he approached with determination and excellence.
Family meant everything to Aaron. He was a devoted father to his son, Genesis.
The love, guidance, and support he gave will remain with him always.
Aaron is survived by his mother, Cathy Gantt; his fathers, Adam Delbert Moore (Tonya) and Franklin Cory Aycock; and his siblings, Jarid Michael Aycock (Taylor), Kendall Jourdan Aycock, and Joshua Martin. He is also survived by his grandparents: Leonard Moore (Kelly); Debbie Vicknair Cato (Gary); Michael David Gantt; Lynn Gantt; Frank Milner Aycock; and Becky Spigner (Steve). His surviving aunts and uncles include Ann Jones (Sam), Susan Reynolds, Billy Reynolds (Tanya) Edith Jacobs (Bob) Louise Banks, Delores Mcgill (Dennis) Debbie Williams, Linda Williams, Charles Gantt(Gail) . Tony Hiawatha Scott (Julie) and Ginger Gravelle (Frank) Christy Davis (Kevin), Brandi Aycock, Amber Moore, Matthew Cooper, and his godparents, Crystal Prochaska and Jeremy Henderson, along with numerous cousins and many cherished friends.
Aaron was preceded in death by his beloved uncle, Scottie Gantt, his best friend, Joel Smith, his grandmother in which we called "Name". Great grandmother, granny Pat: Patricia Propst Brown. Also predeceased by one of our closest family friends and one that was there for Aaron from birth until he passed away, Corey Argoe.
In recent years, Aaron experienced the loss of many family members and friends, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He was deeply loved by those who knew him, and his loyalty to others was unwavering. Aaron loved wholeheartedly and was known for his compassion, sense of humor, and joyful spirit. Above all, he treasured his mother and siblings beyond measure. His memory and legacy will continue to live on through those who loved him.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 3:00 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, 800 W Dunbar Rd. West Columbia, SC 29170. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Southland Memorial Gardens.
