

Allison “Al” Winston Eades, 94, passed away on November 4, 2022 at the Lexington Community Hospice House. Allison was born on February 13, 1928 in Russell Springs, KY and was the son Henry Clay Eades and Effie Belle Hill (Miller).
Allison joined the US Navy in 1946 shortly after his 18th birthday, learned to fly and served in the Pacific. Returning home, he met his wife Janice Louise Howey and eloped in 1950. Allison attended drafting school and worked as an engineer at Bowser-Briggs in Fort Wayne, IN and Cookeville, TN before joining De Laval Turbine in Florence, NJ. His career centered on water filtration systems for nuclear reactors and submarines.
He loved golf (shooting his age in his early 80s) as well as playing Bridge and Gin with his friends and family. He was involved in Republican politics in Tennessee and Burlington County, NJ and served as the Election Commissioner for Gilbert, SC for several years. He also advocated for the building of the Gilbert-Summit Library.
He is survived by his children, Allison W. (Joyce) Eades II, Vicky (Jim) Kolo and Pamme Eades; grandchildren, Melissa Eades, Jeffery Eades, Jennifer (Ryan) Rash, Lynsey Kolo, Shelby Kolo and Darby (Max) Fields, as well as great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and wife, as well as his brothers, Guy R. (Alma) Eades, Arretus (Jewel) Eades, Joseph Miller and David Eades and sisters, Jane (Arno) Withers, Leora (Clarence) McElroy and Ada (Roy) Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 3:30 pm with a Celebration of Life Service at 4:00 pm at the Woman's Club of Cayce, 701 Oakland Avenue, Cayce, SC 29033.
